Manchester City Footballer Benjamin Mandy Charged With Two Further Rape Case

Manchester City footballer Benjamin Mendy has been hit with two further counts of rape following earlier charges relating to four other complainants all over the age of 16.

The 27-year-old defender, who remains in custody, is now facing six counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.

The cases relate to incidents that happened between October 2020 and August 2021.

As of now, the France international is set to appear at Stockport Magistrates' Court on Wednesday. He was previously refused bail last month and is currently on remand at HMP Altcourse in Liverpool.

Mendy has played for last season's Premier League champions Manchester City since 2017, when he joined from Monaco for a reported £52m.

He was suspended by the club after being charged by police, pending an investigation. A trial date had previously been set for January 2022.

Others charged in relation to the case include, 40-year-old Louis Saha Matturie, who got charged with two additional counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.
