Maya Jama set to replace former host Laura Whitmore in Winter and Summer seasons of hit reality show, Love Island.
Presenter Maya Jama confirms speculations and is set to be the new host of the reality series Love Island.Jama will be the new host of both Winter and Summer seasons replacing Laura Whitmore.This follows as Whitmore leaves the show after 3 seasons after being the replacement host after the unfortunate death of the former host, Caroline Flack.The 28-year-old who is said to have been a fan favourite for the replacement spot stated:
"I've always been such a massive Love Island fan and I'm so excited to be hosting one of the nation's favourite shows! I can't wait to get into the villa to meet all of the islanders.".The announcement was made via Maya Jama and the official Love Island account, featuring the show's famous suitcases as well as a personalised water bottle.The post was captioned, "Okay the rumours are true. Jama will begin her hosting duties in 2023 with the Winter season held in South Africa and again in Majorca in the summer.
Paul Mortimer, director of reality programming and acquisitions at ITV2, stated: "Finding a new host to follow the wonderful Laura Whitmore was never going to be easy.He added: "In Maya Jama though, we have another high-profile fan of the show who'll be a great addition to the Love Island family."Cool, charming and charismatic, I speak for us all when I say Maya will also bring a unique presenting style to the show, as did Laura and, of course, the very much missed Caroline Flack. We're very pleased to have her on board."She is also the youngest of the 3 presents to host the show at 28 years old and it is suspected Iain Sterling will remain as the show's voiceover.
