Rapper Nines whose real name is Courtney Leon Freckleton, and a man named Jason Thompson were both arrested. This happened on Thursday the 3rd of June after warrants of their arrest were issued in London and Borehamwood area.
Nines and Jason were both charged with two major drug offences which consist of conspiracies to import and supply class A & B drugs. They are set to attend Willesden Magistrates Court today.
In a interview with the guardian last year, Nines revealed that he started selling weed at 13. "I grew up way too fast. My house got shot up and shit like that as a kid; My life wasn't normal from then", he said.
"I just cared about financial freedom," he added. "Everyone used to go party, and I stood on the corner and stayed trapping, because I was like: "Blud, I need to get out of this shit one day."
The rapper turned more seriously to music in 2013, way before British rap experienced its current golden age.
Nines turned more seriously to music in 2013. However, In a recent interview he revealed his plans to retire from rap after he drops his album next year.
The rapper has previously served five months in prison where he took time to write TV scripts. After his release, Nines secured a deal with XL Recordings and scored two hit albums.
It is unclear what will happen next for Nines, as fans wait for the court proceedings.
