SUELLA BRAVERMAN SACKED AS HOME SECRETARY AFTER POLICE ROW OVER PRO-PALESTINE MARCHES

Prime minister Rishi Sunak has fired his home secretary Suella Braverman this morning, coming after a huge row over the policing of this weekends pro-Palestinian march on the streets of London.

Mrs Braverman has been sacked after days of a political unrest whichsparked when she wrote an article for The Times newspaper, in wich she was accusing the police applying a "double standard" and that they had took a tougher stance with right-wing demonstrations compared to the pro-palestine marches.

The article was not cleared by No10 and it later emerged that Mrs Braverman had refused a Downing Street request to 'tone the article down'.

A No.10 official revealed: “Rishi Sunak has asked Suella Braverman to leave government and she has accepted.” With Braverman further saying: “It has been the greatest privilege of my life to serve as home secretary. I will have more to say in due course.”

Another arrival at Number 10 this morning has been  former prime minister David Cameron, suggesting that he may be returning to government. Mr Cameron has been out of Parliament since he resigned as a prime minister in 2016, he could potentially begiven a seat in the House of Lords to take up a new position.

Mrs Braverman's sacking is the beginning of what is believed to be a major Cabinet reshuffle by Rishi Sunak as he looks to re-shape his top team ahead of next week's Autumn Statement.
