An engineer was brutally attacked by a robot in a frightening malfunction at Tesla's Giga Texas factory located near Austin.
Two colleagues witnessed the horrific incident, as the contraption, which was originally designed to move car parts, attacked their co-worker.
According to eyewitnesses, the man was programming software for other robots, when the machines robotic arm had pinned the man down and began clamping its metal claws into his arm and back.
The attack is said to have been so brutal that a 'trail of blood, was left along the factory surface, and the man was left with an open wound in his left hand.
According to the Daily Mail, the incident took place in 2021, and was revealed in an inquiry report filed to Travis County and federal regulators.
Fortunately, the incident report stated the engineer's injuries did not warrant time off work.
However, an attorney who represents the workers at the Texas branch revealed that the workers' injuries are often underreported. The attorney also made reference to a construction workers' death, which occurred on 28th September 2021, who had been contracted to build Giga Texas factory itself.
The construction worker, who went by the name Antelmo Ramírez, died of heat stroke during the construction of Tesla's large Texas-based factory.
The attorney said: "We've had multiple workers who were injured,"
"and one worker who died, whose injuries or death are not in these reports that Tesla is supposed to be accurately completing and submitting to the county in order to get tax incentives."
The incident has incited fear among the general public and artificial intelligence sceptics, with various X (Twitter) users comparing it to Will Smith's chilling 2004 Sci-Fi blockbuster film, I, Robot.
Other X users also compared the incident to the creepy 80s Sci-Fi classic, The Terminator.
Tesla is yet to comment on the incident.
