A woman has now died after being injured during the crush at a concert held at London's Brixton O2 Academy.

Reports state that thousands of people showed up outside the building without tickets in hopes of seeing Nigerian singer Asake perform on stage. Instead, several people were hurt as crowds began attempting to push to gain access into the building.

The concert then had to be cancelled part-way through as a result of the "large number of people" trying to force their way inside on Thursday, the Met Police said.

Videos have since spread online which show the crowd stretching from the road outside to the venue's doors.

Met Police have issued a plea to the public for any relevant information to aid in an investigation regarding the stampede at the O2 Brixton during an Asake concert.

Two other women aged 21 and 23 still remain in a critical condition, police said.
