The 2025 Brit Awards had it all, performances, drama, and controversy!! Held at London’s O2 Arena, the night was packed with unforgettable moments, both on and off stage.
The biggest winner of the night was Charli XCX, who walked away with an impressive five awards, including Best Artist, Best Album (Brat), and Song of the Year (Guess ft. Billie Eilish). Her genre-blending pop domination was cemented with additional wins for Best Dance Act and Producer of the Year for A. G. Cook.
She accepted her awards with characteristic boldness, making sure to remind the audience that "real pop girls are here to stay", a not-so-subtle nod to her ongoing push for alternative pop recognition.
Stormzy claimed the Best Hip-Hop/Grime/Rap Act award, but his acceptance speech took an unexpected turn. He admitted he was grateful but didn’t believe he deserved it, stating:
"I don’t entirely think this award should be fan-voted... Sometimes I think it doesn’t let people have their moments. I think Cench (Central Cee) was the rap artist of the year."
The comment quickly set social media alight, with fans debating whether he was throwing shade at the voting process or genuinely giving credit to Central Cee.
His win also followed recent controversy surrounding his commercial deal with McDonald’s. Some fans accused him of removing a pro-Palestine post due to corporate pressure—claims he strongly denied. Despite the drama, Stormzy was all smiles as he accepted his award.
After four years away, Jack Whitehall was back as host, and he wasted no time roasting the music industry. One of his standout jokes was aimed at Brits broadcaster ITV, referencing its recent scandal-filled year:
"ITV had so many of its presenters cancelled this year that they had to come crawling back to an ex... and what an honour it is to be here again!"
He also took a playful dig at KSI, telling the crowd:
"Kendrick Lamar makes you feel like you could never rap in a million years. Then you hear a KSI song and think... oh, I could do this."
As always, the Brits gave audiences plenty to talk about. Whether it was the wild outfits, controversial speeches, or unexpected wins, the night cemented itself as one of the most unpredictable and entertaining award shows of the year.
Who deserved their wins? Who got snubbed? Let the debates begin.
