The 2022 BRIT Awards took place in a fully booked 02 Arena with a long list of big name artists, entertainers and fans in attendance.
The ceremony which is the 42nd of its kind was hosted by Mo Gilligan and was broadcasted live on ITV and ITV Hub and streamed on YouTube for non-UK viewers.
A total of 13 awards were presented throughout the evening with a series of electric performances from British Artists ranging from Dave, Ed Sheeran to Adele.
The two and a half hour award show kicked off with a performance of the new version of "bad habits" from Ed Sheeran and special guests Bring Me The Horizon.
Anne-Marie and KSI along with Digital Farm Animals also delivered a show-stopping three song set while rock royalty Liam Gallagher braved a helicopter to the O2 arena to perform his new single "Everything's Electric".
Another one of the best performances of the night came right at the end from best hip-hop/grime/rap-winner, Dave after having been joined on a flame-filled stage for a rendition of In the Fire, by fellow rappers Fredo, Ghetts, Meekz, Giggs, and a gospel choir.
Nonetheless, it is without a doubt that Adele stole the show for the night winning a total of three out the four main prizes at the Brit Awards on top of delivering an elegant power-ballad "I Drink Wine" performance.
The singer won best artist, album and song of the year for Easy on Me. Her so-called "divorce album", 30, was the biggest-seller of 2021, shifting more than 600,000 copies in just six weeks. The star dedicated her award for the album to her son and ex-husband.
However, in a controversial move, the winner of the Brits' first-ever genderless award for overall artist of the year said: "I understand why the name of this award has changed but I really love being a woman and being a female artist. I'm really proud of us." a comment that brought her heavy criticism on social media.
Singer Ed Sheeran took home the award for songwriter of the year while Dua Lipa won the night's other big prize; best pop/R&B act as TikTok users voted for her over Adele in this segment.
The best new artist award went to Little Simz, while her producer Inflo was named producer of the year.
Elsewhere on the night, Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood was on hand to give the best rock/alternative award to Sam Fender.
The North Shields rocker thanked his manager for "walking into that pub 10 years ago" and discovering him.
