Nine year old girl in Liverpool was shot in the chest after a man, who was being chased by another man with a gun, forced his way into her home
A nine year old in Liverpool was sadly killed on Monday night after a man being chased by another man with a gun, forced his way into her home.Olivia Pratt-Korbel was shot as her mother Cheryl tried to stop the man from entering the property. The gun shot first hit Cheryl's wrist and then Olivia in the chest.The man who tried to enter the property was also shot in the body before fleeing the scene.
According to Sky News, friends of the intruder picked him up from a street nearby and took him to hospital.The nine year old girl was taken to Alder Hey hospital but later died.Cheryl and the man, who was chase, are being treated in hospital.Chief Constable Kennedy said in a statement:
"I know that the murder of Olivia has rocked our communities, who are quite rightly upset and outraged that such an abhorrent crime has occurred here on the streets of Merseyside."The people of Liverpool and Merseyside are known for their compassion and pulling together in times of crisis, and I know that our communities, people are wanting to help the family in any way possible."This is not the time for anyone who knows who's responsible for this shooting to remain tight-lipped."It is time for our communities to come together with us and make Merseyside a place where the use of guns on our streets is totally unacceptable, and those who use them are held to account."
