Afrobeats sensation Davido is officially a married man. The "No Competition" singer wedded his long-time partner Chioma Rowland in a no expense spared wedding attended by entertainment industry talent and other top dignitaries. Victoria Island, Lagos stood still yesterday for the show-stopping traditional wedding. #Chivido2024 dominated trends on social media as fans, celebrities, traditional leaders, and politicians congratulated the couple.

Davido - real name David Adedeji Adeleke - and his new bride secured their love for eternity by getting each other's names tattooed on their fingers. Another highlight of the event was when Nigerian motoring company GAC Motors presented the couple with a SUV 2024 GN8 MPV. In a video shared to social media, a visibly elated Chioma is seen rushing into the car immediately after it was unveiled.

The ceremony itself saw former ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo and Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State in attendance. Nigerian artists such as P-Squared also partied with the newly married couple. Davido first introduced Chioma, popularly known as ChefChi in Lagos, to the public as his girlfriend in 2018 when he held a party for her on her 23rd birthday. In 2019, Davido and Chioma welcomed  a son, Adedeji Ifeanyi Adeleke Jr. The young boy tragically died in a pool accident in their home on November 1, 2022.

Davido took a break from music and social engagements for one year after the devastating incident. He returned to the music scene to release his fourth studio album in 2023. In October 2023, Davido and Chioma  welcomed a set of twins.
