Anthony Joshua sat down with model and actress, Jordan Dunn in a Vogue interview where he spoke about how he's found his rise to fame.
In the exchange, Joshua was asked about the specific moment that he realised he was famous. To this, he said that he dosen't refer to himself as famous, but "You are well known when you make a mistake"
He acknowledged the "responsibility" that comes with such a position, and whilst he always had his eyes set on being a boxer, he didn't plan to be a role model for so many people.
"I didn't do it to be in a position of responsibility, or represent anything except for knocking people out"
"I realised, actually, I have a duty to educate myself, and to try and be a role model to kids, and even adults to a certain degree as well. People also want to know about your personal life and personal decisions, right?"
He spoke about himself making mistakes, and the attention that was brought on those mistakes was what helped him to improve as a person.
Jourdan spoke about her platform and said that he strives to show that she is far from perfect, and is also prone to mistakes.
She asked Joshua about his current position in the UK boxing scene, and asked if he feels pressure to live up to his name. He said: "There is, but that's the motivation. That's what gets you out of bed in the morning. Because no one is invincible. The trial and error is what makes you great. I've been beat before. I've been put down before. It's been tough, but the drive to get better and build that invincibility around me is what gives me motivation"
Anthony Joshua was due to make British history in a fight with Tyson Fury. This would be the biggest fight of Joshua's career so far. However, towards the end of May an aribitration hearing ruled that Tyson will fight Deontay Wilder for a third time.
Joshua will now face mandatory challenger Oleksander Usyk before he can face Tyson Fury in the fight that the nation is waiting for.
