The “Talks With Ash” show premise is to gather keen Twitter users to listen to discussions on trending topics, with a selection of chosen ‘speakers’ invited to share their individual opinions.
Late yesterday evening, Ashleigh hosted a conversation titled “TW - CASSIE VS DIDDY LAWSUIT”, which focus was to discuss the news of the abuse allegations made by US singer Cassie against rapper, Diddy.
The two hour programme saw various speakers share their opinions on the matter, which many social media users found distasteful.
This caused a string of tweets condemning Ashleigh for “using people’s trauma as hot topic”.
Ashleigh decided to fight back against these allegations, clarifying that the episode wasn’t meant to “gossip” about the situation, but instead was an intellectual discussion which even included witnesses.
She wrote back to upset fans:
“We didn't "gist" or "gossip" about anyone's abuse. We had a solicitor and photographer who had attended Diddys parties discussing the legal process, how evidence will gathered, witnesses ect. What I do is no different to a podcast, blog, talk show, news paper ect. Just say you don't like me and go.”
She also went on to defend the choice to charge ‘speaker’s’ £100 to be involved in conversation, claiming that the opportunity to promote yourself and business on the show is why she charges a fee.
Despite this, it seems that people are still not impressed with the topic of choice of the recent “Talks With Ash” episode.
Ashleigh ended her Twitter back and forth when a new user tried to accuse her of using this topic as clout
