Rising star rapper and feminist Ceechynaa has voiced her wishes to quit the music industry following her negative experiences with trolls and other professional setbacks.
The 20-year-old, whose real name is Chelsea Ode, took to both Instagram and X (formerly known as Twitter) to call out the questionable behaviour of social media users, predominantly men, who opposed her feminist and political views.
Ceechynaa revealed in an Instagram story that in just a short number of days, she had received over 100 death threats for "speaking up" about feminism.
As well as receiving death threats, the performer made the shocking revelation that trolls had also been threatening her with rape.
She then tweeted that she was "done with music" and was informing music distributors to "scrap" her latest release, citing that the reason behind the abrupt departure was to "protect her peace".
This is not the first time the artist has voiced her desire to sever ties with the music industry.
Last October, in a since-deleted tweet, she announced that she was going to quit the music industry.
In further tweets, she explained that the music industry was "draining" and that saboteurs were attempting to bring her down.
She also added that she had experienced "jealousy" and "greed" within the industry, as things that were "evil", "sick", and "twisted.
She went into more detail during an interview with British Vogue, in which she recalled an incident where her music suddenly disappeared from streaming platforms as a result of legal complications.
