CHIP QUESTIONS STORMZY’S BRIT WIN, STORMZY’S MANAGER RESPONDS!

CHIP QUESTIONS STORMZY’S BRIT WIN, STORMZY’S MANAGER RESPONDS!

The Breakdown: Chip Comes for Stormzy’s MOBO Win

If there’s one thing about Chip, he will always say what’s on his mind—especially when it comes to Stormzy. The rapper took to Twitter after Stormzy bagged the MOBO Award for Best Hip-Hop, Grime, and Rap, and let’s just say, he wasn’t impressed.

Chip called out the fact that Stormzy’s latest work leans more towards gospel and drum & bass rather than the raw grime sound. He went on to claim that Stormzy’s win was a “mockery” and suggested that Central Cee or D-Block Europe were more deserving of the award.

“A man done a Gospel album and a drum and bass single. And won best ‘RAP, Grime & HipHop’… at this point he’s not my problem, he’s you lot’s.”

It didn’t stop there. He also threw in a McDonald’s jab, shading Stormzy’s fitness journey by saying:

“A man went from Men’s Health to McDonald’s all in one Instagram row.”

Ouch.

Stormzy’s Manager Flipz Enters the Chat

Now, if we thought Stormzy himself would respond, his manager Flipz handled that for him—and he kept it short and spicy.

Referring to Chip’s comment about getting “itchy” when Stormzy talks about Jesus, Flipz clapped back with:

“You itch every time he talks about Jesus? OK Demon.”

Whewww.

The Debate: Industry Politics or Personal Grudge?

Chip’s frustration with Stormzy isn’t new. Their history dates back to subliminals, diss tracks, and indirect shots that have kept UK rap fans entertained over the years.

But is Chip calling out a valid issue with the industry? Some fans agree that Stormzy winning a rap and grime award despite his recent genre shifts raises questions about industry politics and voting systems.

Or is this just Chip still holding a grudge? Others feel that Chip’s ongoing issue with Stormzy is personal at this point, and his tweets sound more bitter than constructive.
