The US rapper has achieved this title after his 1999 album 'The Slim Shady LP' becomes the 11th album surpassing the 1 Billion stream Milestone.
The 49-year-old rapper is the first artist to have accumulated this incredibly immense amount of streams on each of the 11 tapes, despite a significant selection of his albums having been released before Spotify was even created back in 2006.
'The Slim Shady LP' can be considered as one of the Detroit rapper's most iconic albums, featuring the largely famous track 'My Name Is' as well as the memorable back-and-forth collaboration with Dr. Dre, 'Guilty Concience'.
Eminem's talent is difficult to dispute, as the album 'Music To Be Murdered By' released in 2020, surpassed 2 billion Spotify streams in June 2021. Furthermore, 4 more albums by the successful rapper had already hit the 2 billion milestones at that point; Curtain Call, The Eminem Show, Recovery, and The Marshall Mathers LP 2 had hit the number prior (with 'The Marshall Mathers LP 2' on 1.86b in June 2021 and likely to have joined the rest at this impressive milestone).
The rapper received many accolades today on Twitter where it was also made known that his worldwide hit 'Love The Way You Lie' featuring muti-award winning singer, Rihanna, has now surpassed 900 million streams, making its way to a billion and being the fourth of his songs to do so!
Eminem's debut album, 'Infinite' has yet to become available on Spotify, though we can assume it would likely receive a significant number of streams from the clear millions of Eminem fans that are still prominent in today's music-loving society.
Spotify has previously surprised listeners with late uploads of musicians past discography, including Drake's 'So Far Gone' mixtape released in 2009 but released on Spotify in 2019, Chance The Rapper's beloved 'Acid Rap' mixtape that was previously only available on Youtube, and more recently, Jhene Aiko's debut melodic mixtape, 'Sailing Soul(s)' has also now become available to listen to on Spotify.
It is unknown whether the debut album of rapper Eminem, born 'Marshall Mathers' will one day join the rest of the discography on Spotify, but it is evident that users would very much appreciate it, if it ever did.
