Jude Bellingham has become the second Black British footballer to play for Real Madrid. The Spanish team have signed the 19-year-old midfielder on a six-year deal from Borussia Dortmund. According to BBC Sport, Real Madrid will pay 103m euros (£88.5m) in addition to potential add-ons. Laurie Cunningham was the first British and first Black British footballer to play for Real Madrid from 1979 to 1984.
Speaking at today's (June 15) presentation, Jude said: "I just want to say thank you to everyone in the room and watching online for joining me for the proudest day of my life as I join the greatest football club in the history of the game.
‘There are a lot of people to thank for getting me to this point. Borussia Dortmund, Birmingham City, the people who work there.
"Also the people who work here, the president and of course my family for all the support and making the deal as easy as possible."
The star also shared several snaps of him wearing his new number five jersey. In his caption, he wrote: "Hola Madridistas!
"It is the proudest day of my life to join the greatest club in the history of the game. I will give absolutely everything I have to help this team win. Thank you for the amazing welcome. HALA MADRID!!!"
