FOOD CRITIC KEITH LEE'S TOUR OF LONDON RESTAURANTS CAUSES A STIR ON SOCIAL MEDIA

Keith Lee, 28, has become a TikTok sensation, known for his brutally honest food reviews. With over 17 million followers, his opinion carries significant weight worldwide. Many Brits eagerly anticipated his UK food tour, however, his harsh review of a full English breakfast sparked controversy. Lee ate the meal as part of a complimentary breakfast as he stayed in a London hotel. But unfortunately, he was not a fan of the beans on toast, mushroom and was seen spitting out the black pudding.

One annoyed social media user commented, "Unfortunately, I now don't trust your reviews." Another advised, "As a Brit, please put the beans on the plate and have a little bit of everything on a fork! No one eats it one piece at a time." Others criticized his experience, with one chef remarking, "As a UK chef, you've completely missed the point of a full English. Go to a local cafe (greasy spoon) on a hangover, and you'll see the beauty."

Following the recommendations, Lee visited Terry’s Cafe, where he gave a much more positive review, praising the freshness of the food. He acknowledged the difference between hotel catering and restaurant-quality cuisine. However, his review of Spudbro’s fared worse. After trying a tuna, beans, and cheese jacket potato, Keith was unimpressed and again spat out the food on camera.

Since then, Keith has expanded his tour, visiting more ethnic restaurants in the UK. His highest-rated reviews in London have been of Caribbean, African, and Asian cuisine. A standout moment was his visit to Maureen’s Kitchen, a Caribbean restaurant, where he praised the bold flavors and awarded his highest score so far—a 9.2. He also saw the restaurant distributing food to children after school and contributed £2,000: half for the children and half for anyone in need.

He also visited  The Flygerians in Peckham, he insisted on paying £1,000 for his meal instead of accepting it for free, reinforcing his reputation as someone who genuinely supports businesses rather than just critiquing them. Other restaurants he has visited have continued to receive high praise.

Before becoming one of TikTok’s most trusted food critics, Keith had a very different career—he was an MMA fighter known as “Killa.” During the pandemic, he turned to social media, initially posting family content and cooking videos. In 2021, he pivoted to reviewing restaurants and gained a devout following. Mny businesses have recorded high turn out after his reviews. His unique review style involves having family members place anonymous orders, ensuring he experiences the same service as any regular customer.
