LIL NAS X SAYS BYE TO DEVIL DANCING AND HELLO TO GOSPEL MUSIC

Lil Nas X is gearing up for a 2024 comeback by teasing fans about his upcoming gospel music.

According to the controversial rapper, fans should expect a new sound from what they’re used to, with a whole new message too.

The rapper, whose real name is Montero Lamar Hill, has shared that he has recently re-connected with God, after claiming the industry ‘tried to make him satanic’.

This comes after the rapper’s prolific live performances and public sightings repetitively featured hypersexual storylines and devilish imagery and connotations.

A national performance by the artist would guarantee the rapper to be trending the following day, due to conservative voices disapproving of the artist’s provocative choreography and lyrics for audiences of millions.

Additionally, Lamar Hill would regularly capitalise from this controversy and the rumours that he had ‘sold his soul’ for fame, by purposely choosing such themes. The music video of his hit song ‘MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name)’, features the singer dancing seductively on a character acting as the devil, and the rapper was also the face of the limited edition Nike Air Max trainers which featured a drop of blood in each pair, which many deemed to be ‘satanic’.

However, the artist now blames the industry for these actions, and claims he will soon be exposing them.

In a series of TikTok’s, the artist writes about how he is ‘returning to God’ and now must ‘watch his back’ because he has plans to ‘expose the industry’.

Lamar Hill went on to share how he is now being forced to release music independently as his label allegedly does not approve of his new genre, gospel music.

Onlookers have given a split reaction to the shift-up in Lil Nas X’s behaviour, some believing that the content is a marketing tactic and the artist is only trying to manipulate audiences.

Others have been supportive about this news, wishing the rapper well on his journey with his religion.
