Marcel Somerville has opened up about the status of his marriage. Residents will remember that his wife Rebecca Vieira allegedly sent flirty texts to US rapper Slim Jxmmi behind his back.

Love Island star Marcel, 38, married Rebecca in August 2022 and share a three-year-old son, Roman. After the revelations, he reportedly moved out of their family home and subsequently deleted all traces of her on social media. But in a new interview with MailOnline, Marcel confirmed he and Rebecca are still together and are “working through the situation”.

Asked about his relationship status, Marcel said: 'I've gone through a little bit of a crazy time in my life. I'll talk more about it at a later time, as I'm not really ready to talk about what's going on right now. We're working through the situation to get the best outcome that we can.” Meanwhile Rebecca has been sharing videos and photos on her social medial of her and Marcel. She recently posted a video supporting her husband at a football match.

Earlier this year, Rebecca admitted to making a “huge mistake” in a public letter of apology to her husband. She wrote on Instagram: “By now most of you would have seen what's going on, I've made a huge mistake, I've embarrassed not only my husband but myself and both our families.”

She added, “My actions were foolish and have hurt so many people around us but most importantly my husband. I've said a lot of things that I shouldn't have and it was stupid of me so I won't sit here and justify my actions, those decisions should have never been made.”

“I want to publicly apologise to my Marcel, just as loudly as the rest of the noise. For all the hurt, embarrassment and pain I have put him through there is nothing and no one in the world that comes before you and our family. No-one could ever compare.”

Rebecca followed up the apology with a picture of their gold wedding rings which had the engravement: “Always and forever.”
