A 21-year-old man has sadly died after being stabbed in Ladbroke Grove at Notting Hill Carnival on Monday evening.According to BBC News, the victim had to be pulled out of a crowd by the police and had emergency first aid performed on him.The man later died at a hospital in West London.A murder investigation has been launched by the Met police who have said that hundreds of people were nearby at the time of the incident.Commander of local policing, Dr Alison Heydari, said: "The atmosphere over the past two days has been largely positive and good natured as Carnival should be.

"Regrettably, on Monday evening we saw a number of violent incidents and a 21-year-old man has lost his life.

"Our thoughts are with his family as they come to terms with their terrible loss."

She added: "There were hundreds of people in the immediate vicinity when this incident took place.

"I would urge anyone who saw anything, who has video footage or who has any other information that could assist officers, to come forward."

The Met police were given stop and search powers until 1 am on Tuesday morning.There were reportedly 209 arrests made by early Tuesday,The arrests consisted of 46 for assault, 36 for possession of drugs, 33 for possession of an offensive weapon, 27 public order offences and eight sexual assaults.
