MAN SUES APPLE FOR £5M LOST IN DIVORCE AFTER WIFE FOUND 'DELETED' IMESSAGES TO PROSTITUTES ON FAMILY IMAC

A businessman is suing Apple for his £5million divorce loss after his wife found his deleted iMessages to prostitutes on their family iMac.

The middle-aged man, who goes by the pseudonym Richard, claimed to have been meeting prostitutes in the later years of his 20-year marriage.

He used iMessage on his phone to arrange meetings with the sex workers before deleting all traces of the interactions.

However, Richard was mortified when his wife discovered several years' worth of 'deleted' messages on their family iMac, which prompted her to file for divorce within a month.

The British businessman and father is now filing a lawsuit against Apple in hopes of retrieving £5 million lost in the divorce settlement, as well as additional costs.

Richard claims Apple does not explicitly state that iMessages sent from a mobile phone can be viewed on other linked Apple devices. He also argues that Apple did not make clear that messages deleted from his mobile phone may also still appear on these other devices.

The cheater told The Times: 'If you are told a message is deleted you are entitled to believe it's deleted.

'It's all quite painful and quite raw still. It was a very brutal way of finding out [for my wife]. My thoughts are if I had been able to talk to her rationally and she had not had such a brutal realisation of it, I might still be married.'

He also claimed to believe that his interactions with prostitutes were "not as bad" as having a full-blown affair.

Richard said he thought the stress was going to cause him a heart attack, causing him to take beta blockers to reduce his panic attacks.

He stated that his marriage may have been able to withstand the scandal if it "hadn't been so sudden and brutal and upsetting".

The newly single father has turned to London law firm Rosenblatt to assist him in taking legal action against the tech giant, looking into a class action no-win, no-fee lawsuit.
