It has come to light that Marcus Rashford’s brother, Dane, was arrested on domestic violence charges in Miami, Florida.
The 31-year-old is also a football agent and the director of DN May Sports Management.
DN May Sports Management lists Marcus Rashford as a client however the player is directly managed by his other sibling, Dwaine Maynard.
He was cuffed on October 20 in Miami Beach and was charged with the misdemeanour of battery.
He stands accused of ‘striking’ his girlfriend in the face after searching her phone and finding text messages from another man, according to police report.
The British vacationers were reportedly staying at the Kimpton Angler’s Hotel in Miami Beach where staff noticed thewoman walking through the lobby with a bloodied nose in the early hours of October 20.
When officers arrived outside their room they heard a ‘verbal altercation’ between a male and female, whom they identified as 31-year-old Rashford and Andrea Pocrnja, four-year parner of Dane and the mother of his 14-month-old child.
The police report docmented that,
‘The victim stated that the arrestee struck her in the face twice with a closed fist. The arrestee then got out of the Uber and walked away with the victim’s phone.'
‘Once the victim was inside their hotel room, the arrestee entered the hotel room and a verbal argument ensued in regard to the text messages he saw on her phone.'
‘The victim was on the phone with the front desk in an attempt to get the Wi-Fi password so that she could disable her phone that the arrestee had at the time.'
‘The arrestee assumed that the victim was calling the police and a physical altercation began, which she does not remember specifics of because she was intoxicated.’
The report also stated that Rashford’s sister, Chantelle Maynard, was babysitting the couple’s toddler at the time of the incident and both her and the child were in the hotel room when the altercation took place.
The report says that Chantelle witnessed her brother becoming irate, kicking a closet door and causing visible damage.
But ‘the witness stated that she did not see the arrestee strike the victim at any point.'
Rashford was reportedly taken to jail at 3:30am while Pocrnja, who shares a home with him in Wilmslow, just outside Manchester, was taken to another hotel room because she felt ‘unsafe.’
Telegraph sport reported that the 31-year-old football agent’s bond was set at £1,224 when he appeared in court on the 21st of October. The amount was paid by Chantelle Maynard a week after his arrest, Florida court documents state.
He has pleaded not guilty and will face a further hearing on November, 27.
Although the brother of the Man United star is not being held in custody while waiting pre-trial, he has been served with a "stay away order" which prevents him contacting the victim.
Dane declined to comment to Telegraph Sport, along with football club Manchester United who refused to make a comment.
Speaking to Telegraph Sport, Daysi Vega-Mendez, assistant state prosecutor for Miami Dade County said: “The case is still active, at the moment I haven’t been able to get hold of the victim.”
“At the moment the case is still active and listed for an arraignment hearing on Nov 27.”
