'My Mum Tracy Beaker' Becomes CBBC's Most Successful Programme Launch With Over 2.1 Million Streams

'My Mum Tracy Beaker' has become the most successful programme launch in CBBC history after it's premiere a few days ago.

Tracy Beaker returned to everyone's screens last Friday (February 12), in a series that focused on her life with her daughter and new partner, Sean. Viewers were of all ages - with some young and anticipating a new show to watch, and other older viewers tuning in for the nostalgia! Legendary characters from the original series such as Justine Littlewood made an appearance, giving the older fans a blast from the past.

The show smashed the records as they hit an impressive 2.1m streams in the first three days of its release. Patricia Hidalgo, Director, Children's & Education at the BBC spoke about how special this achievement is and said "These viewing figures are extraordinary,"

"We've had an overwhelmingly positive reaction to My Mum Tracy Beaker from viewers of all ages, proving how much love there continues to be for home-grown, British drama.

"CBBC continues to produce programmes that reflect the lives of children in the UK and leaves them with fond memories of iconic characters as they grow into adults. We're thrilled to bring the adventures of Tracy and daughter Jess to new and existing fans alike."
