Just a few days after Afronation announced that they would be postponing their festival, Rolling Loud has followed suit by announcing its postponement.

In a notice released on their website, the festival organisers announced that the event would be rescheduled as a result of COVID-19.

"We are deeply saddened to share that Rolling Loud portugal is officially postponed and rescheduled for July 6 - 8, 2022", the notice read.

"We have been closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation in Europe; and working tirelessly with our portuguese health and safety partners to create and safe environment in which our first ever Europe show could take place", it added.

Although, the festival noted that Europe was opening up and that there were numerous positive indicators, they said rescheduling the event would serve the best health and safety interests for their fans.

First ever Rolling Loud event in Europe

The event was set to be a first for Rolling Loud in Europe; as it has already built a name for itself in North America.

Scheduled to take place on Praia da Rocha beach in the coastal town of Portimão, Portugal, it was expected to become the "world's largest hip-hop festival" touchdown in Europe; and the first even Rolling loud edition to take place on a beach. Hip-hop greats such as Travis Scott were on the lineup of performers.
