A new concept that involves artificial wombs has been created by a scientist to fight against population declines
A scientist has revealed a new concept that could be used to fight against population declines.Hashem Al-Ghaili - a film producer and biotechnologist - created a video of The EctoLife Artificial Womb Facility.
The facility can grow up to 30,000 babies with pods that mimic wombs. It's believed that this could be the solution for people who have fertility struggles and want a child that's genetically theirs. The scientist also claims that this could be used to combat population declines.
Although the video is only a concept, Al-Ghaili said that it was based on "50 years of groundbreaking scientific research conducted by researchers worldwide".The clip describes how parents would be able to record messages and create music playlists for their babies in the artificial womb.
It also speaks about how the pods can be used by people who fear childbirth and pregnancy. The video narrator can be heard saying: "Say goodbye to the pain of childbirth and muscle contractions.EctoLife provides a safe, pain-free alternative that helps you deliver your baby without stress."Parents can deliver their babies by pressing a button on the pod. This will cause theamniotic fluid inside to drain and the artificial womb to open.
