The Markle family drama continues as Thomas Markle has once again spoken out about his daughter, Meghan Markle—this time taking issue with her new Netflix docuseries, With Love, Meghan.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Thomas, 80, did not hold back, accusing his daughter of “faking it for the cameras” and lacking spontaneity in the Netflix series.
"Unfortunately, Meghan has never been authentic," he claimed. "She has to think about everything. She's not spontaneous."
The retired lighting director also suggested that Meghan’s mannerisms and expressions in the show were overly rehearsed.
"Everything she says is pre-planned and rehearsed. It makes me laugh because I know all her looks and expressions," he added.
According to Thomas, Meghan’s attempts at perfection on screen make her appear unnatural.
“She’s trying so hard to be perfect that she tenses up every time the camera is on her,” he said.
Despite his strong opinions, Thomas admitted that he has only watched clips of the show and has not seen it in full.
“I might sit down and watch it one day, but I’m not sure,” he said.
Beyond her on-screen persona, Thomas also criticized Meghan for distancing herself from the Markle surname, referencing a moment in the series where she corrected her friend Mindy Kaling about her last name.
“My mum loved Meghan very much, but she would be so disappointed to hear that Meghan no longer wants to use the name ‘Markle’,” he said.
He went on to express his frustration, suggesting that Meghan’s disassociation with the family name coincided with her relationship with Prince Harry.
"Meghan never had a problem with the Markle name until she met Prince Harry," he stated.
Thomas Markle’s latest comments are just the latest in a long history of public criticism directed at Meghan. Since her marriage to Prince Harry, their relationship has been strained, with Thomas frequently making headlines for airing family grievances.
While Meghan has remained relatively silent on the issue, Thomas’s remarks have once again sparked debate about their complicated dynamic and whether their relationship is beyond repair.
