Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae Hague, who captured the nation’s hearts on Love Island in 2019, shocked fans last summer when they announced the end of their five-year relationship. The split followed allegations of infidelity, with Molly-Mae reportedly receiving an "upsetting video" of Tommy on a lads’ holiday in Macedonia.

In an emotional interview with Men’s Health, Tommy, 24, broke his silence on the breakup and addressed the cheating rumours. "Cheating was never a thing," he insisted, adding, "You can ask Molly this yourself. It was the drink, and the drink is not a good thing."

The professional boxer, who shares a one-year-old daughter, Bambi, with Molly-Mae, admitted that he became dependent on alcohol while recovering from a painful injury. "My mental health was in the pan," he said, explaining how he turned to alcohol to cope, often drinking to the point of "black-out drunk" nights.

Tommy acknowledged the toll his lifestyle took on their relationship, saying, "The reason why me and Molly broke up was because I got addicted to alcohol and I couldn’t be the partner that I wanted to be anymore. It kills me to say it, [but] it’s true."

The younger brother of heavyweight champion Tyson Fury reflected on how his addiction affected his priorities. "I’ve only lived for training and my family, and that was all snatched away from me," he admitted.

Despite their separation, both Tommy and Molly-Mae have remained focused on co-parenting their daughter. While Molly-Mae has yet to publicly respond to his statements, Tommy’s candid admission sheds light on the challenges the couple faced behind closed doors.
