Tyson Fury caused a social media stir after the Manchester-born world heavyweight champion posted and deleted a message on his Instagram that read; "Pray for Israel" - in relation to the events happening in Israel and Palestine.

However, he later came out and announced that his profile had been hacked; and that he had not posted anything on instagram.

"Last night, I went on Instagram and found a political post on my story," Tyson said. "I don't get involved in any political conflicts or anything like that".

"As we all know, I am a man of the people. I represent all people from around the world – every country, not just one.

"I don't just select one country. We all know that's not a real post by the Gypsy King. God bless you all, peace out and God bless all the people who are in conflict at the moment," he added.

Not the first time he is getting political

However, it is not the first time that Tyson has been caught up in the political territory. Back in 2014, over a year before his first world title win, he posted a tweet with the hashtags "Free Palestine", "Stop The Rockets", "Stop the killing of innocent people" and a message that "God's people would not do this."

All this has left people in doubt as to whether Fury's post was truly a hack; on something a little more intentional.

Mr. Fury is expected to return to the ring later this year to fight against Anthony Joshua in a big-money unification bout to be held in Saudi Arabia.
