Rapper Stefflon Don and presenter Zeze Millz have finally sat down for an interview and buried the hatchet. Over the years the pair have had public falling outs, with Steff claiming that Zeze doesn’t support her. In the far-ranging interview, Zeze admitted that sometimes Steff’s public persona can come across as “unlikeable” but she has always rated her talent as an artist. Steff admitted that back in the day some of the things she used to say and do were “annoying.” But joked that she knew deep down that Zeze liked her.
Elsewhere, in the interview on Zeze’s YouTube channel, Zeze asked her about an old social media post where Stefflon appeared to diss 9-5 jobs and people working for "chump change". The post garnered a lot of backlash from her fans who were upset that she was looking down on them. The “16 Shots” rapper explained that she had once seen workers setting up in the early hours of the morning. Her annoyance was geared more towards the employers not paying them adequately and not the workers trying to make an honest living.
Stefflon – real name Stephanie Victoria Allen – also spoke about her upbringing. She bravely shared that her father was abusive while growing up. She shared a story about her dad, who passed away three years ago, forbidding her and her mother from visiting a family friend. The rapper recalls being 10 years old and being woken up to her dad beating her with a belt. Steff, who is the older brother of fellow rapper Dutchavelli, described a household where her dad would be violent to her mother and having to ask her dad permission for everything. During the interview, Zeze admitted that although she had an opinion that Steff can come across as quite “arrogant” she now sees that the rapper is actually a cool person.
