Holly Humberstone, Lola Young and Bree Runway have now been shortlisted for the upcoming 2022 Brits Rising Star Award.
This award focuses on the artists who are likely to go on and have big careers in the future. In the past, artists such as Adele, Ellie Goulding and Sam Smith have won the award.
Three women were to be chosen by a panel of respected members of the scene, including journalists, editors, songwriters and more.
Let's take a closer look at the three women who made the shortlist...
Holly Humberstone is a 21-year-old artist from Grantham, Lincolnshire. She recently released EP, Falling Asleep At The Wheel really helped her shoot for fame, and the EP has now gained more than 200M streams worldwide.
Previously, she won the Ivor Novello Rising Star Award and was also was the runner-up on the BBC Sound of 2021.
The artist said: "Music has always been my entire life, and being nominated for such a prestigious award really means everything to me.
"Recognition from the Brits is something I am struggling to comprehend at the moment!
"It's truly an honour to be nominated for the Brits Rising Star Award alongside two other incredibly inspiring female artists."
Lola Young is a 20-year-old artist who has been following her passion for music since the young age of 11. Only 2 years later, she was able to win a national open mic contest.
After this, she enrolled on Brit School in London and began to perform all over London. This eventually led to a record deal with Island Records.
Lola said: "I can't believe I've been nominated for this award. It feels surreal and completely unexpected." she said.
"I actually have to pinch myself looking at the other artists that have been nominated previously.
"It is such a big step for me and I feel very excited to have been nominated!
29-year-old Bree Runway was able to blow away Michelle Obama at the age of 14 at her school. Michelle encouraged Bree to continue making music when she heard her voice.
She went to create covers of popular songs, which led to her social media accounts growing substantially. More recently, singles from her 2000and4EVA mixtape have received worldwide praise, and one of the songs even appeared on Lady Gaga's remix album, Dawn of Chromatica.
Bree responded to her shortlisting by saying:
"I feel so honoured to be recognised by the Brits in this way, it's all so exciting especially as previous nominees have gone on to do such amazing things, I hope I'm struck by that same luck.
"Attending the Brits alone has been something I've wanted to do for years, but attending as a rising star nominee is a dream."
