Amir Khan says he was robbed at 'gunpoint' whilst walking with his wife in London

Amir Khan has said he was robbed at 'gunpoint' whilst walking with his wife Faryal in London. The professional boxer, 35, took to Twitter yesterday [April 18th, 2022] to update his followers.He said: "Just had my watch taken off me at gun point in East London, Leyton. I crossed the road with Faryal, luckily she was few steps behind me."2 men ran to me, he asked for my watch whist having a gun pointed in my face. The main thing is we're both safe."Many of Amir's followers sent their condolences and well wishes in the comments section.

One person said: "Sorry to hear this Amir. When you walk through a storm Hold your head up high and don't be afraid of the dark. At the end of a storm there's a golden sky and the sweet silver song of a lark "

"Hope you are both ok Champ. Sorry, this happened to you in London. Gun and Knife Crime is out of control. Trouble is; politicians and the Mayor are more interested in taking down statues," a second tweeted.Professional boxer Anthony Fowler also commented: "Glad you're ok mate."Amir has been married to his wife Faryal Makhdoom, 30, since 2013. They share three children together - daughters Lamaisah born in 2014, Alayna in 2018, and son Muhammed who was born in 2020.

Sharing a snap with his daughters and wife earlier this year, the boxer wrote: "Happy to be back with my kids. Feeling the love today for my family, friends, and all my fans and everyone who showed support in Manchester - Thank you."

Amir rose to fame in 2004 after he won silver at the Olympics. He was only 17 at the time.

He then became the world champion after beating Andreas Kotelnik five years later.
