Dave and Central Cee’s first ever official collab “sprinter” has soared to the number one spot in charts this week, earning it the biggest first week of streams since Adele’s Easy On Me which debuted with a record-breaking 24 million streams during its first seven days.
On top of having one of the biggest single debuts in UK music history, Sprinter has also topped the official single’s chart with over 108,200 chart units and a record breaking 13.4 millions streams in its first week.
Sprinter, arguably one of the UK’s most groundbreaking collab features the two rap prodigies rapping in a harmonious blend of their respective styles as they dish out bars in synergy to create a compelling story of their personal experiences, turbulent journey from the streets to stardom, and a somewhat “boastful” testament to their success.
Dave, known for his critically acclaimed albums "Psychodrama" and "We're All Alone In This Together," is widely recognized as one of the most influential voices in contemporary UK rap. His storytelling prowess and simplistic style have earned him a legion of devoted fans worldwide.
On the other hand, Central Cee has risen rapidly through the past few years to become one of the UK’s brightest prospects - releasing widely popular hits like “Doja” and his mixtape "Wild West".
The collaboration between these two hip-hop powerhouses has been a long-anticipated moment for fans around the world, and with the success of “sprinter” it is clear that fans are happy to see it come to life.
