Muhammad is 2022's most popular baby boy name in the UK so far. This is reportedly the fifth year in a row that this name has taken the top spot.
BabyCentre released this year's top 100 baby boy and girl names.In second place on the boy's list was Noah followed by Jack, Theo, Leo, Oliver and George. The baby names Ethan, Oscar and Arthur completed the top 10 boy names this year.Among the other boy's names to make the top 100 included Ali, Jaxon, Arlo, Abdullah, Hunter and Zion.
In regards to the girls names, Lily overtook Olivia's spot for number one as Olivia was placed third this year. The name Sophia was the UK's second most popular girl baby name.
Amelia received fourth place for 2022 whilstAva, Isla, Freya, Aria, Ivy and Mia were among the other names to feature in the top 10 on the girls list.Sarah Redshaw, the managing editor for BabyCentre, said: "Parents proved they are judge and jury when it comes to baby names as they threw the book at Amber, Johnny, Wayne, Coleen and Rebekah, all at the heart of expensive high-profile court cases."I predict the impact of Johnny (Depp) and Amber's (Heard) battle and the Wagatha Christie effect will continue and we will see those names fall further in the charts."
