'Young, Famous and African': The Dazzling Life of Africa's Elite Members

In what seems like an era of rising conflict and polarisation, there is no better time than now for the release of the light-hearted and entertaining creation of Young, Famous and African, Netflix's first EVER African reality series. The show has an incredible Pan African cast consisting of young, famous, and refreshingly, AFRICAN stars.

The series broadcasts the lives of a wealthy cast of Pan African's.

They are rich not only in their accomplishments but also in their character and entrepreneurial ventures. Khanyi Mbau is a South African actress, producer and life coach who lives in the most expensive area in Johannesburg, Sandton. Diamond Platnumz is a Tanzanian bongo flava recording artist, dancer, and founder and CEO of WCB Wasafi Record Label.

He is described to have "brought Hollywood to Africa", and became the first Africa-based artiste to reach a combined total of 900 million YouTube views. Annie Macaulay–Idibia is a Nigerian actress, model and presenter, starring in over 200 films throughout her career. These are just a few of the captivating characters whose lives are candidly presented through this gripping reality series.

Young, Famous and African coming soon on Netflix.
Young, Famous and African available on Netflix March 18th.

Through experiencing just the pilot episode alone, we are thrown into the illuminating life of Africa's elite, mesmerised by the jaw-dropping style, swagger and self-assurance bursting through the screen. With some cast members being the stylist for the likes of artist, Davido, and with one-liners that will make anyone laugh out loud, we cannot wait to see what the remainder of the series has to offer.

We will admit, it at times has been frustrating that the world has yet to see mainstream representations of the African continent that stretch beyond poverty and struggling lifestyles.

Now, finally, people of all backgrounds have access to an in-depth exploration of "African All-Stars". To the West, Africa is often projected as being solely disadvantaged and always dealing with famine and war. This show shares the truth. Africa is MORE than these issues, each country has a rich heritage and culture, and the cast of this series was willing to share this with us all. Showing the good, the stressful and the undeniably GLAMOROUS intricacies of 2022 African royalty!

Young, Famous and African portray a powerful image of Africa by its unapologetic young citizen cast who are highly successful and excelling at their own businesses.

Amongst a plethora of some of the UK's most known black and African faces, the pilot episode was uniformly praised, described repetitively as igniting a feeling of "Family" after viewing.

The atmosphere at the screening presented just that: an audience of largely African individuals, from different countries across the continent, feeling connected through the celebration of successful African stars equally from different countries. Spreading from South Africa, to Ghana, Zimbabwe and Nigeria, the show will provide a splash of home and familiarity for all those with ties to the beautiful continent.

Many gathered to enjoy the pilot screening of the new reality series.

Young, Famous and African brings the glamour and glitz of Africa to a global audience who may have previously possessed a warped understanding of the continent and as this audience, we will follow their love lives, family business, trials, tribulations and achievements. And of course, drama and intrigue are certainly promised from the very first episode, with highly awkward and intense moments.

"The Real Housewives WHO?"

Young, Famous and African have come to take the place of all favoured reality shows before it.

Netflix's first reality TV series and cannot wait to watch it take the world by storm. Series 1 will be released on 18th March.
