Megan Barton Hanson has opened up about her experience getting Cosmetic Surgery at just 17. This was due to the constant bullying about her looks, but has told her fans that she has now come to a realisation that "you can't please everyone'
The Ex Love Island star has openly spoken about her experiences with lip filler and facial fillers. She made it clear that this did not "help her to love herself".
Initially, Meghan believed that such procedures would increase her confidence, but all it seemed to do was lead to more procedures such as rhinoplasty and breast enlargement.
She said: 'The surgery helped me diminish the obsessive nature of my insecurities, but while it made me feel happier when looking in the mirror, that's just surface level.
'It didn't help me to love myself, that came from growing up and having a strong circle of empowered women around me.'
She has now spoken about taking the decision to have her lip fillers dissolved, as well as the clips in her ears in an effort to embrace a natural look.
Since then, she has given up on any further attempts of plastic surgery. She said: "Surgery is not something that can make you love yourself. You can't please everyone, so it must be done for you and you only."
Speaking to Mail Online, she said: 'To be honest, all I get these days is Botox – I haven't had my lips done since a year before the villa.
'Where I got it all done at a young age, it's easily maintained, filler lasts longer, I just have preventative Botox here and there but other than that I don't really get anything else done. I am really happy with the way I look.
This isn't the first time that Meghan has spoken out against cosmetic surgery. Back in 2019, she spoke on Good Morning Britain and urged those considering surgery that would drastically change their looks to consider therapy instead.
She added that she now realises that confience comes from within and is not overly concerned with what people think of her appearance.
